This fine Silver Witch Ball Shaped Table Lighter features a gilt mechanism and a silver base. The silver base has an engraved foliate pattern all the way around the bottom half. The lighter is empty, but when pressed, it creates a spark.The shape of the lighter is said to be based on the witch ball - a sphere of glass hung outside the home to ward off evil spirits.This item is in good condition and has a full set of hallmarks as well as the word Witchball under the base.Made in London.Date – 1958.Maker – Richard Comyns.Approx.
